I have a question for my fellow liveaboards:
which company can we get DSL from?

I am really sick of the abysmal service I have been getting for over a year and a half from bbx, so I’d like to get my own DSL line, put a wireless router in my dockbox, and then maybe share the line with anyone who is interested.

I suppose, though, that there might be some limitations on which companies are licensed to hook up phone lines on the dock.

Do you have any input?

This all started, sadly, with Roy’s passing away.
I realized that I don’t have any pictures of Roy. Then it occurred to me that, indeed, I don’t have any pictures of my neighbors, nor do I have any pictures that could give an idea of Shilshole to someone who has never seen it.

On March 9th, we had a little get-together in front of Roy’s boat, of friends and neighbors of D dock, to remember the old fella. The turnout was very good, which again served to underscore what a nice little community we have here. On that occasion, I took a bunch of pictures. Then, since I was (and still am) playing with Movie Maker and my India pictures, I made a little video.

Thinking, what am I going to do with this? A number of things came together, including our friends Michael and Sara, who told me about this hosting provider, and this blogging software which they are using on their site ….

and here we are.

Now D dock (and the rest of Shilshole, too) has a home on the internet.

Our D dock alumni are especially welcome to post from far away places, e.g. Harry on Rhiannon, Steve and Susan on Last Resort, Gary and Rosy on Facet (from Everett ) etc…
