We are having a serious Charlie’s withdrawal recently. Maybe it’s the hot weather, brings back vivid memories of many evenings of sitting on Charlie’s patio with burger glop dripping down our arms, or muching on their enormous cobb salad, sipping from the nice cold pitcher of beer.

Where can we get a burger like Charlie’s had?? We’ve searched the whole city and haven’t come up with anything close.

Does anyone know where one can get a decent burger in this town? One that you need five napkins to clean up with after eating?

Just went through all the “check out” paperwork! I hope to be on the way to Moorea in a few hours. I be back in touch when I get to Samoa in early August. Have a fun time back there in the world!

I was sanding my companionway slats yesterday on the dock box, when thankfully Don stopped to chat for a few minutes. He says he wants to put together a nice little dock party, at the end of Pier D, with a jug band, beer, and good times. We were wondering about the finances, i.e. how to get people to pitch in a couple bucks each, so we can get a keg.

Ideas?

The date is not set, but Don wants to do it the first weekend of August. Come back for updates…

I’m still here, waiting for the mail to arrive from the States. I went into the fuel dock yesterday (about $120.00 for 30 gallons of diesel) and upon reanchoring, I could see my anchor 55 feet below me. How’s that for clear water! And that’s inside the barrier reef where all kinds of stuff gets spilled and dumped into the water! I hope to be out of here by early next week since the mail hasn’t arrived today. Got to get to Samoa in early August so I can get a shipment of charts and stuff.
