Sail & Hike

Published by fulvio under Other Places

I’m looking for recommendations on good places to sail to, where you can go ashore and take a good hike. I know of Port Blakely, where you can take a walk through the woods up to the cemetery, and Blake Island, which has lots of nice trails. Other places, longer hikes?
Preferrably close to Seattle, but anything would be interesting.

Necklace found

Published by Administrator under Lost & Found, Shilshole

So, I’ve created a new category for the Shilshole Blog: Lost & Found!

I’ll start with this announcement:

Respond here if you’ve lost it.

suspicious nightly maneuvers

Published by fulvio under B Dock, D Dock, E Dock, Shilshole

Last night I noticed some “fishy” activity in the basin between the breakwater and the ends of piers C, D and E. It looked like the entire Pacific fishing fleet (well, at least half a dozen fishing boats) was doing some kind of scavenger hunt. Alas, I was too lazy to walk all the way to the end of the dock, and the Webasto purr beckoned me inside.

Did anyone see what was really going on?
