Civic Duty

Having established that the rest of you are endowed with a sense of humor (see Heading North? and Thank You F Dock), I can now go back to being my usual boring self:

I have always wondered what happens in meetings like those in which our no-bathrooms, no-showers $80 million construction project was decided. So I figured I’d go check out the next one.
The Port Commission meets regularly the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month. Would anyone care to join me and attend the next meeting?

Heading North?

I know, I know. Most of you possess sufficient intelligence to be headed south, to warmer climes. Not us, though. We have been heading north for twenty years and have no plans to turn the pointy end the other way. So, the question is whether any of our Shilshole neighbors have any interest in a January evening devoted to the subject of cruising north toward Skagway. If so, how many of you are there, and what would you like to hear or talk about? We certainly could do a slide show and presentation, but we have something more interactive in mind. We are not sailors, but hope that those of you who are will provide the sailors’ perspective. Speak up, if only to berate us for cruising a stinkpot and/or our wrongheaded choice of destinations.

As the year draws to a close, we could have a special page for a review of all notable Shilshole events for 2005.

Defaulted on order… Kept deposit!

I’ve seen these signs around Shilshole (even in the laundry room) saying:

WARNING
Quantum Sails
DEFAULTED ON ORDER
KEPT DEPOSIT!

Last night the sign at the Pier D shack was gone. What’s the story here?

I bet this site could become a sort of Better Business Bureau… which, by the way, has Quantum on file with an unsatisfactory record.
