Miris at Golden Gardens

from Shilshole Sheri…

Last Friday we ordered a dinner for four with our friends, at 6’ apart of course. Brisket Kebobs with a wonderful fresh Greek salad, rice and a very smooth and creamy hummus. Next time we’ll have to try the chicken. Everything was so tasty and served hot. Not to mention very ample portions too, so much that both couples were able to have some left overs. Which, I might add, were just as tasty on day two. Sweet Miri hand delivered the meal to the boat and with a smile, turned and ran off, no doubt to deliver more wonderful meals to other eagerly waiting appetites on other boats. You should take part in her food delivery, you’ll be glad you did.

Little Library at Shilshole

Shilshole Marina now has a Free Little Library, thanks to Sheri on Fredal!  She has worked hard to obtain permission from the Port, acquire materials, assemble and finish the project and, this week, install it at the Marina Office bldg.  You may have seen these neighborhood libraries throughout the city.  It is a place to leave a book, or take a book …no more having to use the laundry room shelf 🙂

Sheri is net control for the Monday eve V-Man checkin and is a board member of the Shilshole Liveaboard Assoc.

Canadian Border Remains Closed

The closure to boaters has been extended another 30 days, again, until Sept 20th.  Unfortunately, this has put a huge strain on the harbors and parks in the San Juans, but I’m sure the businesses appreciate the patronage during these times.

The Canadian small businesses are no doubt suffering, as the American boater is a huge part of their clientele.  Next year when Canada opens up, do your part to help them out…buying fuel, groceries, eating and dining out.
