The Shilshole Liveaboard Association is registered with the state of Washington Dept. of Corporations as a Nonprofit Corporation.
The precursor to the Shilshole Liveaboard Association (SLA) was the Washington Liveaboard Association at Shilshole (WLAS), which was founded at Shilshole Marina in 1998. As the Washington Liveaboard Assoc. (WLA) grew to cover and address the issues of the many different liveaboard communities of Washington State, the SLA formed their own chapter of the WLA in Sept of 2010.
