Aug. Friday Nights/SailFest

The Friday Night/SailFest returns to Shilshole Bay. This is a free fun event for all sailors.

Bring your friends, your business associates, kids and kid’s friends for a fun filled evening on the water and ashore.

After the fun sail everyone is invited to I Dock at the Shilshole Bay Marina Plaza for free hot dogs/beer, wine, sodas and the famous Sail/Fest Raffles. Bring the kids, there is no telling what prizes might be waiting for them.

The Race is designed for everyone to come out and sail for fun. No ratings, show up for a sail. There will be three starts: fast boats, not as fast boats and dinghy’s. First start is at 1900 hours and subsequent starts at 1905 hours and 1910 hours.

Only three rules: have fun, no collisions, rules of the road.

Most marinas sell ethanol free gas (better for your outboards, generators). Some marinas have shallow water access at low tide-sailboats beware.  Many also have pumpout stations. Call the marinas for verification of these.

Port/Dock Captain meeting 6-14-16

Here are the notes from the meeting.  The main presentation from the Fire Dept is rescheduled for a later date.  The next Dock Captain meeting is Sept 13th, 6-8 pm, CYC clubhouse.  All dock captains are required to be there and all tenants are invited.

FREE Family-Friendly Fun on June 11, 2016

Shilshole Bay Marina celebrates National Marina Day! The Shilshole Bay Marina Group is banding together to present the annual Open Boat Showcase and Swap Meet on the same day to benefit the Leukemia Cup Regatta, “Sailing for a Cure.”

Starting at 8:30am

10am-4pm

*Suggested donation or cost to participate. All proceeds benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and La Senioritas, Inc.

Events are supported by Shilshole Bay Marina, SeattleBoatShow.com, and the Shilshole Bay Marina Group which includes Sail Northwest, Seattle Sailing Club, Dockside Solutions, Windworks Sailing & Power Boating, Seattle Yachts, Corinthian Yacht Club of Seattle, Sterling Marine Services, Seaview Boatyard & Yacht Service, and Shilshole Liveaboard Association.

Security at Shilshole

On the V-man net tonight (every Monday, VHF ch 71, 8pm) there were reports of suspicious persons hanging around M4 restrooms. The Port of Seattle Police also stated that there have been several car prowls in the parking lot.  Activity will increase as the weather warms up with later daylight hours and more people heading to Golden Gardens.

Reminders:

  • Lock your car and remove all visible items (put in trunk or take to boat);
  • Be observant when walking to and from restrooms, cars and gate;
  • Call Port Security (206-601-4089) for any suspicious person or activity!
