The Ballard District Council represents the Ballard Neighborhood-one of 13 neighborhood districts formed in 1988 to promote, support, and involve citizen participation at the neighborhood level.
Meetings are held the 2nd Wed of each month, 7-8:30 pm at the Ballard Library (5614 22nd Ave NW). There is no cost to attend and there is free parking below the library-accessed from NW 56th St.
The public is welcome to come observe the proceedings. Discussions include traffic/pedestrian safety issues, parks, and Ballard community events/successes/challenges. The Shilshole Liveaboard Assoc. holds a permanent seat on the Council.
Here is another smart phone app for emergency preparedness. Check out this quick presentation from UC Berkeley Seismology Lab. I have downloaded it to my Android a few minutes ago.
Cheers!
Thank you to all that participated in last nights Solstice Party!
Unfortunately, due to the nasty weather at 4pm, the parade didn’t happen . It did clear out by 5:30, but by then everyone had made their decision.
We had about 25 people at CYC for the party afterwards…great to meet new faces. Thank you to all that brought a potluck item to share and for everyone’s generosity that filled a large tub of food donations for the Ballard Food Bank!
