Here’s a great article reflecting on the winter challenges we all experience. Thank you, Irene, (one of our long time neighbors, …a liveaboard on E-dock)

This week you may have noticed the 4 shipping containers in the boatyard. Seaview had a new 80 ton crane delivered from Italy (the old Travel Lift is 50t). This will allow larger boats to be serviced in the yard. Check out the article in Northwest Yachting.

What a treat Halloween was this year!
It was a beautiful evening.
Around 6 pm, Shilshole’s kids gathered at the Harbor Master’s office.

As the sun set, they went from dock to dock.

Their costumes were adorable and their energy was sweet. Thanks kids for all the fun!

Good afternoon, neighbors…last week the Dock Captains had their quarterly meeting with the Marina staff and Port of Seattle police. This is an opportunity for the Port to give construction and security updates and for the Dock Captains to share issues from their docks. Here are the notes…
Last night the Port had a meeting at CYC to show their 60% design stage for their $8 million Restroom/parking lot construction project. About 30 tenants and Port representatives were in attendance. Because the 2nd story addition did not make financial sense, there are going to be (2) 2600 sq foot and (1) 800 sq ft buildings. The two larger ones will have restrooms, showers and laundry; the smaller one will have family restrooms and showers. Geothermal and solar will provide the heat and lighting for the 2 larger buildings. M2 and M5 will stay after construction to use as utility rooms. M4 and M6 will be demolished. The laundry units will double from current levels. Restrooms and showers will have radiant floor heat for comfort and drying. Showers will be operated with a fob for security and to eliminate quarters. There will be a covered bike storage areas for about 48 bikes. Construction is expected to begin next spring (2018) and be completed by late fall.

If any of you know of anyone who needs help.. suffering from depression, drug, or alcohol addiction or other serious mental or emotional problem, I’d like to point out some easy to access resources.
There as a weekly AA meeting right here at the marina, offering support and fellowship for those who would like to stop drinking or using. Stop by the marina conference room any Monday morning from 7 to 8 am and check it out.
The King County Crisis Line 866-4-CRISIS is a great resource if a person needs immediate help. They can help with any problem small or large.
If we see any of our neighbors suffering please reach out to them and help them find help before something serous happens.
If you’d like to talk to someone in confidence, you can feel free to contact me at 206-979-9016.
