Seaview Ave Closed at Railroad Bridge 2/16/2024 8am-5pm

I’ve noticed this sign out of the corner of my eye as I drive past. Finally stopped to see the details. It would be nice if this information was easy to find on https://www.seattle.gov/transportation/ or https://wsdot.wa.gov/

It appears that the primary arterial to reach Shilshole is scheduled to be closed much of the day on Friday February 16th.

Who we are…

The Shilshole Liveaboard Assoc. (SLA) is a neighborhood association, that was formed to serve as a conduit for sharing experience, education, and information between people living aboard their recreational boats at Shilshole and their larger community.

The SLA has a close working relationship with the Marina/Port of Seattle; manages the Shilshole Blog, the Dock Captain Program, Shilshole Prepares, and maintains a permanent seat on the Ballard District Council.

The SLA also acts as the representative of our liveaboard community on issues that are a concern to the membership like: marina security, the Liveaboard Agreement with the Port, and community participation.  In order to accomplish this, we need to hear from you!  Together we can protect our lifestyle and the use of our recreational boats.

Welcome to 2024!

New Years Eve Lights

Welcome to the new Liveaboard Association Website, same as the old Website.

The website has moved from a dedicated server to a hosted service to make long term management easier as well as gain features such as better mobile device access.

All of the content from the old site has been moved to the new site. It may be in different locations, and there are some broken links that will hopefully be fixed as they are found. If you find a problem, please leave a comment and it will be addressed.

One of the differences I came across is my old RSS feed of http://www.shilsholecommunity.org/feed/ has not seemed to be retrieving updates. I needed to change my reader to use a new feed over a secure connection https://shilsholecommunity.org/feed/

Let me know what you think.

Sewage Spill in Eagle Harbor

Yet, another sewage spill in Eagle Harbor! Second this month! Many boaters visit Eagle Harbor, with their pets.   The Kitsap Public Health District has issued a no-contact advisory for the Eagle Harbor and Wing Point areas as a result of the spill.
