New Recycling Program at Shilshole

As a boater, we are very much in touch with, and aware of, our surroundings and do our best to boat and live in an environmentally responsible way.  Most of us do a great job of separating our glass/paper/plastic/organics from the regular garbage.  The Port has always encouraged us to recycle and they provide clear signage near the dumpster of how to sort.   It’s the right thing to do!

Foulies for the Homeless

Everybody has some old foulies hanging in their closet or in their hanging locker on the boat, maybe some boxed up in the attic or garage. Maybe they’re just too big now

after you’ve lost all that weight last year…:) You’ve had them for years, you don’t use them, don’t fit any longer and aren’t good enough to sell. Don’t take them to a for profit charity, bring them to Sail Northwest here at Shilshole and we’ll put together truckloads of old gear to take over to The Bridge Care Center where they will be lovingly given out to people in our community that are in need and asking for help.   Read more…

Your Shilshole Liveaboard Association is encouraging everyone to decorate their boats with lights this holiday season!

Friday, Dec 7th, 5 to 7:30 pm, the Shilshole Marina Office is having a Tenant Appreciation evening-details are posted on the gates;

Saturday, Dec 15th-1st sailing: the Christmas Ship departs Shilshole Bay Marina, 2pm

1st Performance: Hiram M. Chittenden Locks @ 3:10 PM
2nd Performance: Golden Gardens Park @ 3:50 PM w/ Bonfire

Vessel Documentation processing delayed

UPDATE: processing time is normal as of 11/20/18

U.S. Coast Guard sent this bulletin at 11/13/2018 10:53 AM EST
Due to issues with a system upgrade the week of October 29, 2018, application processing for Abstracts of Title, Renewals, Priority Requests, Deletions, Certificates of Ownership and Commercial work will be delayed approximately three weeks from the time of submission. We recognize the impact of this delay, and are working diligently to return to normal processing times.

PLEASE DO NOT RE-SEND APPLICATIONS, PAYMENTS OR ANY OTHER DOCUMENTATION THAT HAS ALREADY BEEN SUBMITTED. Requests will be processed as usual, on a first-in, first-out basis.

Updates regarding processing time will be posted as they become available. We apologize for any inconvenience this delay may cause.

Port of Seattle 2019 Budget and Shilshole

The Port of Seattle has published its proposed budget for 2019 and under the Maritime Division, here are the items that are related to Shilshole…

MAJOR/NEW INITIATIVES:

  • Improve the customer experience.
  • Fund and construct Shilshole Bay Marina’s new bathrooms/lockers/laundry facility.
  • Align resources to streamline billing, reduce front desk wait time, and improve facility management at Shilshole Bay Marina.
  • Implement new vessel management software system to improve marina efficiency

All the programs will start at 7 and end at 9 pm.
