Community Emergency Response Team (CERT)
The Shilshole Liveaboard Assoc. strongly supports individual and community preparation for times of emergency. We have a page here devoted to training and resources. One of those is FEMA.
FEMA’s Community Emergency Response Team Program trains volunteers to prepare for the types of disasters that their community may face. Through hands-on practice and realistic exercises, CERT members:
- Learn how to safely respond to man-made and natural hazards
- Help organize basic disaster response
- Promote preparedness by hosting and participating in community events

Boat and Dock Security
It can’t be stressed enough,…PLEASE don’t let anyone through the gate that you don’t recognize. Ask them: Who they are visiting? What boat? If they belong here they will appreciate your observation. If they don’t, they will challenge you and make a fuss. So what! Politely direct them to the Marina Office for access. This is your home and neighborhood and you have a duty to help keep it safe.
If you See Something, Say Something!
Call the Marina cell at 206-601-4089, 24/7 for any concerns. Always call 911 for an emergency.

In 2017, the pipe broke under the ship canal and leaked raw sewage into the canal. sewage spill and repair.
Road detour and repairs should take about 2 months.
